A full time position as a studio runner has opened up at The Editors, a boutique post production company in Sydney which specialises in TVCs and advertising content.

The job will start off with doing day-to-day tasks around the office, but the position will expand over time to include more complex tasks.

Hospitality background is a bonus, as are barista skills (hopefully you won’t just be making coffee!)

Internship: Production Intern

This is an UNPAID 6-8 week internship that has been advertised as adhering to new Fair Work Australia guidelines in engaging in unpaid work and internships. Here are the details:

You will have the opportunity to be trained by seasoned industry practitioners in a number of areas including but not limited to:
film development
film production
post production
The right candidate requires the following skills:
Intermediate or high skills in Microsoft Office programmes inc. Word and Excel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
An eye for detail
Research skills
Professional attitude towards practitioners and clients
It’s important that you are passionate about film and are motivated to learn.

One other thing to note is that it’s an office based position, so I doubt there will be a great deal of scope for being on location for shoots, etc…but it could turn into paid work at the end.

The Subject: Writing Television Drama IS available this Spring semester. Since the MA in Media Arts Submajor no longer is available, student cannot automatically enrol in this subject. HOWEVER, this does not mean you cannot take the subject.

What to do: Email Alex Munt your request to take the subject and he will get back to you ASAP about getting access to enrolling in this subject for Spring 2016. The class is currently running, but we are looking for more keen students to join the class.

Description:

Looking for an outgoing, can-do media graduate or similar for our post production studios.

This is a supporting role to the producers, which involves hands-on experience across a broad range of production areas. Definitely a good slab of admin duties involved plus on-the-job training in video editing, motion graphics, audio production and everything in-between.

You’ll already know a lot about video and audio production in both broadcast and online platforms, with a solid understanding of file formats,codecs, TV, radio and online standards. Preferably you’ll also have skills with editing software, Photoshop and AfterFX.

You’ll be very computer savvy with PC & MAC platforms, quick at learning new programs and not afraid to get your hands dirty.

You’ll also have a keen creative eye and a burning desire to become a producer in the real world.
