Marc Rosenburg

Marc Rosenberg grew up in Houston, Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas, Austin in Government/Pre-law. While living in Austin, Marc became founding editor of Advent, a literary and arts magazine. Rosenberg then traveled to Australia and attended the Australian Film and Television School (AFTVS), where he was ‘Writer-in Residence’ for a year. While at AFTVS, Marc wrote a short film that won The Greater Union Award and was noticed by Phillip Noyce (“Patriot Games”, “Salt”, “The Gift”, etc.), who invited him to work on the feature film, “Heatwave” (starring Judy Davis). “Heatwave” was accepted to the “Director’s Fortnight” at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Rosenberg has since written 7 produced feature films, working with Jeremy Irons, Miles Davis and Daniel Radcliffe. He has won Australian Writer’s Guild Awards for “Best Original Feature Screenplay” and “Best Adapted Feature Screenplay”. Marc has also written over 20 hours of television.  Marc has taught screenwriting and film production all over the world – Australia, the U.S. and India. In 2016, he earned a Masters Degree in Creative Arts and his thesis is being published in the periodical, Film International.  Marc continues to be an active member of the entertainment industry.

Big Review Tv is looking for a full time junior producer. Salary is 50K p.a and applications close November 30th!

ROLE DESCRIPTION: This role requires superior organisation skills to manage clients, team members and scheduling. As a producer you will be making videos to suit client’s needs whilst maintaining a budget, problem solving and meeting deadlines.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome calls to clients in order to inform them of the production process and plan
  • Create relationships with the clients and translate their needs into their video production plan
  • Schedule, organise and supervise shoot days – including the management of on-set crews by providing them with a detailed brief and call sheet of the client’s needs
  • Manage client expectations if there are any difficulties or obstacles in capturing their video and understand what we can and can’t produce within the budget and timeframe
  • Report to the Senior Producer any time there may be a variation to their package that affects production time, budget or number of videos in order to problem solve and come to a middle ground for both Big Review TV and the client
  • Enter production details into the spreadsheets in order to maintain an accurate overview of a client’s production package and keep an accurate budget
  • Liaise with the editor assigned to projects in order to communicate the main messages of the videos
  • Monitor deadlines for the editing process, make sure these are met or manage client’s expectations if there is a delay
  • Formulate long-lasting relationships with clients that hopefully lead to a renewal of their packages

Toronto Short Film Festival

The Toronto Short Film Festival is in its second year of screenings and this is a great opportunity for MAP students to enter their projects into. With no pre-screening requirements and open to all shorts under 50 minutes (including documentaries), it’s worth spending a couple of minutes to enter. Celebrate the very best of international short filmmaking at the Toronto Short Film Festival.

The Toronto Short Film Festival puts on a week of screenings and networking events providing ample opportunities for short filmmakers to showcase their achievements, learn from fellow filmmakers, and build contacts for future collaborations. The Festival also benefits from the vibrant Toronto filmmaking community.

The Toronto Short Film Festival runs every year in March at the Carlton Cinema in downtown Toronto.

The Steve Jaggi Co. is a full service motion picture production company that produces in house feature motion picture content and provides executive services and production, sales and marketing consultancy to third parties, both domestic and foreign.

A unique opportunity has opened for an intern to join their team. You will have the opportunity to be trained by seasoned industry practitioners in a number of areas including but not limited to:

  • project development;
  • physical production & post production;
  • film marketing and digital sales.

The right candidate requires the following skills:

  • Intermediate or higher skills in Microsoft Office programmes inc. Word and Excel;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Preferably a good understanding of Illustrator, Photoshop, CS6 / CC;
  • An eye for detail;
  • Demonstrable research skills;
  • An understanding of social media applications inc. Facebook, Instagram & Tumblr;
  • Professional attitude towards practitioners and clients.

Additional (but not required, as training will be provided) skills include:

  • Movie Magic Budgeting;
  • Movie Magic Schedulling;
  • HootSuite.

It’s important that you are passionate about film and are motivated to learn. Experts within their  team will provide support during the internship, but you will be expected work independently as well.

  • For the right applicant this position is available as either part or full time for a maximum duration of three months;
  • Any and all required equipment will be provided;
  • This internship has been designed to fit in with post secondary study requirements and if required we are able to liaise with educational institutions to ensure study accreditation.
