- Audience engagement : know your audience well. Don’t simply rely on blanket social media posts. Know where your audience is online. Know what they’re specifically interested in.
- Find a balance between fact and emotion: when appealing for donations, provide your target audience with both information on the project/film itself AND make sure you hit that emotional spot (this is how people will feel obliged to throw some cash dollars your way).
- Focus on what’s in it for them – it’s not all about you. Your audience needs those incentives to hit ‘donate’!
