About the Role, and You

They are currently searching for an experienced Editor/Motion Graphics designer to join them full time. You must have a keen sense for design and a strong ability to multitask, bringing several projects at a time to life, from concept to delivery.

Equally important is a developed understanding and sensitivity towards client/brand/product needs, as-well as an eye for quality, as this role will require you to manage external designers/editors to ensure creative and technical excellence.

Essential skills:

  • Excellent eye for motion design
  • Intuition for storytelling
  • Highly skilled with After Effects & Premiere Pro
  • Comfortable with Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Video editing skills
  • Knoweldge of CAD and Adstream processes

Highly valued skills, but not required:

  • Cinema 4D
  • Da Vinci Resolve
  • Directing

Paid Internship Opportunities with NBC Universal

Some fantastic work experience opportunities are up for grabs working with NBC Universal. These are 6 month paid internships that will allow you to really get your foot in the door working for a massive international media conglomerate. Please note that it doesn’t appear that there is a lot of technical production involved, so it wouldn’t be ideal for people wanting to launch a career in directing or cinematography (apart from the Matchbox Internship which may offer some scope for this).

They have an info day coming up about NBC that’s definitely worth checking out, but you need to make sure that you RSVP for this. I’ve included it as a screenshot of a PDF below for your convenience.

PAID FULL TIME INTERNSHIP – DIRECTOR’S ASSISTANT

FINCH is offering a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the film and advertising industry working with the region’s leading Directors and Producers.

They are looking for a highly skilled and highly driven film buff for a Director’s Assistant Internship at FINCH; someone who is passionate about working in the Film, TV or Advertising industry.

As a Director’s Assistant you will work with their Creative Team and Directors to pitch for new work as well as assisting Directors during the development and pre-production process. They’re wanting a unique combo; a graphic designer and/or budding writer who is excited to become a master of both.

Your role will be to creatively translate their approach to a script into a written and visual format by researching, referencing and curating a variety of visual and verbal mediums into a beautifully designed and entertaining document. One that is the creative and imaginative pinnacle of the brief. To do this we are looking for someone who can amaze us with their skills design, their love for film and knows how to express this all in a unique and exciting way.

You need to be able to take instruction and feedback well, whilst having the confidence and initiative to work independently and problem solve. You will be working on real briefs with real deadlines. You should be eager for a challenge and keen to learn new skills. You will be working under the guidance of our current team who have an extensive knowledge of the role and can train you up.

A film buff who is interested in working in advertising and film.
Someone with phenomenal written and verbal abilities.
Someone who understands the visual language of graphic design, typography, photography, fine arts etc and has a good eye.
Someone who understands both print and digital mediums.
Someone who can take briefs from our Directors and Creative Team and turn their words into visual realisation.
Image research is part of the job so you will need to be a master researching skills.

MUST HAVES
Advanced skills in Adobe CC.
InDesign and Photoshop are the primary programs used so you must be skilled at these.

OTHER SKILLS
Skills in Adobe Illustrator and Video Editing

M & T are seeking 2 media/film production students to help create a 3-4 minute film about our company.

M&T is a Recruitment Company, part of SMS Technology, Australia’s largest ASX listed IT Consultancy.

One of their company mission statements is “helping people achieve greater success”. In making this short film they therefore want to give some ambitious students an opportunity to achieve greater success, by participating in some professional paid work.

About You:

· Competent with filming equipment, basic or complex, it’s up to you what you use.

· Able to edit the film into a finished product. Don’t worry, we’re not looking for experts as this will just be for internal use in our company.

· Available to finalise the film by 2nd September.
