Volunteers Wanted: Make Nice Conference in June

static1.squarespace

The inaugural ‘Make Nice’ Conference is looking for volunteers in the areas of production, styling and managerial positions

What it’s all about:

Make Nice is an event for creative women to learn from creative women in an intimate un-conference environment with an exclusive lineup of creative talent – including Leslie David (FRA), Adi Goodrich (USA), Elizabeth Weinberg (USA), Suzy Tuxen (AUS), and Brodie Lancaster (AUS).

Make Nice will be a casual and informal series of chats and discussions, based on a participant driven, knowledge sharing model with those who have a high level of expertise in their field. As
a not-for-profit platform the inaugural year will be limited to an intimate group of 150 women from across Australia to create a participatory, supportive, and helpful exchange.

Position Details:

– Production Volunteers – must be tech-minded, AV savvy and have a current drivers license.

– Styling Volunteers – must have an interest in interiors, an eye for detail and a current drivers license.

– Front of House Volunteers – must be obscenely friendly, have some kind of customer service experience and ideally an RSA.

All volunteers will get to sit in on the un-conference programming for free and rub shoulders with super impressive creative women.

Apply:

To apply, please provide your CV and a paragraph about why you want to take part in Make Nice to hello@make-nice.com.au with the subject line ‘Skillz Not Billz’. Please let us know if you’re interested in Production, Styling or Front-of-House.

Expressions of interests close Monday, 9 May at 11:59pm. Only successful applicants will be notified.

We’re already a month down and well into the swing of MAP for 2016. I’d like to welcome all of our new students who are commencing Media Arts and Production this year with Exploring Media Arts. Hopefully you’re enjoying your first semester studying what has to be the best major that Communications at UTS has to offer!

For those embarking on MAP Major Project, best of luck with getting your productions completed over the next 2 months. If you are in need of a major crew roll to be filled, please contact me at: thomas.grainger10@gmail.com and I will place an advertisement for crew roles that need to be filled, in the coming weeks on this website.

This is our new and revamped version of MAP News that will be updated on a more frequent basis. Instead of getting the old traditional email once a month or so, we’ll have small but important information and news coming to you on a regular basis through the Media Arts and Production website which you’re currently on.

Enjoy the various creative projects you’re working on this semester and don’t forget to help out your fellow students and gain some extra experience. I’m sure you’ll be in need of assistance on your own projects in the very near future.
