This semester’s ungrads have been slaving away to create some absolutely fantastic (some disturbing) and high quality media projects from short films to docos to installation/alternative media to showcase this semester. Here’s the details for the screening:

Carnival of the Bold brings together artists and other leaders who drive important issues of our time — sustainability, poverty, justice, peace, human rights, animal rights, equality, education, well-being — to inspire and awaken greater public consciousness and create deeper engagement around social causes.

The event showcases a mix of talks and performances by various artists, and will touch, entertain, humour and provoke, and also connect those who
care about social change.

Test That Script Out: Script In Hand

Each month writers have their scripts assigned to capable directors who cast experienced actors who rehearse each script then present on stage with props, costumes, sound and lights in front of an audience, followed by a Q&A.

Writers email your script to SIH programmers Ron Hadley and Ruth Fingret at scriptinhand@live.com

If your editing skills are not up to scratch and you’d like to learn the ropes of FCP X, then this 3 day short course is definitely for you!

What You’ll Learn:
Using workflows
Using libraries to organize and manage events, media, and projects
Applying exceptionally fast, fluid editing techniques for video and audio
Fine-tuning clips in the timeline
Comparing alternate shots from a collection of clips
Applying effects, transitions, and retiming clips
Finishing and final project
Prerequisites
Knowledge of OS X and basic computer navigation
Basic knowledge of video editing terminology is highly recommended
